About Herbalism with Gi:
Hi, I'm Gigi - lover of all things herbalism & wellness
My interest in herbalism & wellness started when I was fresh out of high school at 18 years old. I would go to the farmers market every chance I had to get ghee, bone broth, kefir soda, & any other fun goodies I could find. Quickly & obsessively learning about nourishment from real food.
After I had my son in 2020 - in the middle of the pandemic & lockdowns - I dove deep into non toxic living & the pro metabolic diet. My motherly intuition kicked into high gear, wanting to protect & nurture my family.
From 2021-2024 my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It was the biggest shock to our family & changed everything. For over 3 years she endured countless treatments, side effects & multiple appointments per week. I am grateful that I was able to be there with her for most appointments. I’m so thankful they helped her live for just over 3 years, so much time we were able to savor. But I quickly realized that “health” was not found in that system. I really liked her doctor because he would have conversations with me explaining why holistic medicine would never make it into orthodox practice. It all came down to $ & insurance - straight from his mouth. He understood my frustrations & did all he could to extend my mom’s life. While it was frustrating & heartbreaking, that is the reality of western medicine.
Experiencing that, along with other encounters with doctors & dentists, has led me here.
To believing wholeheartedly in herbalism, holistic wellness, & nourishing my family.
